Karen Meredith

Karen Meredith serves as Head of People & Culture at the Climate Democracy Initiative (CDI), where she focuses on building equitable, people-centered systems that enable the organization and its team to thrive.

With a career spanning mission-driven organizations including NRDC and KIPP NYC, where she oversaw HR for 1,000+ staff across 18 schools, Karen brings deep expertise in HR strategy, compensation, and organizational development. She holds a Master's in Human Resource Management, a B.S. in Biology from Allegheny College, and certifications as an SPHR, SHRM-CP, and ACC.

Rooted in her Brooklyn upbringing and Jamaican heritage, Karen is driven by the belief that inclusive, well-designed people systems are what allow mission-driven organizations to do their most important work.
