Pueblo, CO
ECLIPSE launched its first full-scale partnership in Pueblo, Colorado in 2025.
Working with District 60 schools, community partners, and the GEN WILD of Pueblo coalition, this work connects classrooms to real community priorities.
In Pueblo, this work is taking shape in classrooms and community spaces. Students are exploring local priorities through projects connected to recycling and composting systems, habitat resilience, and sustainable food access. This also includes partnerships with organizations like the Pueblo Zoo and the National Park Service, where students are applying what they learn to real environmental challenges.
Experiences outside the classroom are also shaping this work. In 2025, more than 300 students and 40 educators from 15 Colorado communities participated in statewide leadership summits. By supporting travel and access for students from Pueblo, more young people from historically underrepresented districts were able to take part and bring those experiences back to their schools.
Since then, students have begun developing projects rooted in their own communities, turning ideas into action in ways that reflect local needs and priorities. At the same time, educators are building stronger connections with community partners, making it easier to bring real-world learning into the classroom and sustain this work over time.
